Why Forma exists

Forma helps public-serving and mission-driven organizations strengthen leadership, clarify ownership, and build practical systems that make change last.

The work is designed for real operating environments where leaders are balancing workload pressure, changing expectations, limited capacity, and the need for measurable follow-through.

Designed for real organizational conditions

Forma's work is designed for environments where leaders are balancing compliance, workload pressure, limited staffing, changing expectations, and the need for measurable follow-through. The focus is practical leadership systems that hold up under real conditions.

Targeted improvement support for real operating conditions.

Forma provides targeted organizational improvement engagements for organizations that need practical support with structure, leadership alignment, operations, and implementation.

Each engagement begins with the problem the organization is ready to solve. For organizations that know something needs to improve but are not sure where to start, Forma helps identify priority needs and opportunities for improvement.

We then apply the Forma Sustainable Systems Framework to strengthen the areas that matter most for sustainable performance.

Practical support, not generic recommendations.

Led by our Principal Consultant

Forma Leadership Group is led by our Principal Consultant, a public-sector operations executive with approximately 20 years of public-sector experience — including 13+ years administering and managing public assistance programs and 7+ years leading organizations through transition and development. He has directed large-scale human services operations at the executive level and has consulted, coached, and trained leaders across UC Davis and 15+ California counties.

Our principal consultant has led agencies through corrective action recovery, major policy and business-practice change, and complex organizational transitions — bringing a practitioner’s understanding of public-sector operations together with a consultant’s ability to diagnose systems, coach leaders, and stay with the work until it holds.
